Inter Faith Week

November 11 - November 18

Inter Faith Week is an awareness week that aims to strengthen relations between all faiths, increase awareness of different faiths in the UK and understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs.

Who celebrates?

Everyone – it’s a national awareness week!

How do people celebrate?

It is an opportunity to learn about the faiths across the UK, talk about your own faith with people of different faiths and recognise the role that faith still plays across the UK.

What should I know?

  • There are 170 different faiths and belief systems in the UK
  • More than half of the people in the UK describe themselves as having no religion
  • Christianity is the most common religion in the UK and Islam is the fastest growing religion in the UK.

How can I support others?

  • Encourage people to take part in Inter Faith Week’s virtual faith events
  • Show your support on social media by following Inter Faith Week’s hashtag
  • Use the opportunity to talk about your own faith and what it means to you
  • Ask people about their faith and whether they’d be willing to share what it means to them
  • Use the opportunity to learn about a faith different to your own
  • Familiarise yourself with the diversity of religion in your area and how representative your organisation is of the community you serve.
